[FOUND] LF: Metal lathe machinist

Post by cait001 »

Any machinist here skilled with their metal lathe and willing to let me hire them to reproduce this plunger/pin?

It is a plunger inside a solenoid of this Mini-Match.

There are pin holes at the bottom of 5 of those columns, and the solenoid pulls in the metal pin.

There are two other small parts I might also need made, but I need to see if I can just find equivalents of the parts elsewhere.

City wouldn't matter because they'd be easy to ship.

I found an amazing machinist place just off of Preston that is going to reproducing this for me. They normally repair printing presses, but took pity on me. :)

They have old school lathes and magnificent new CNC enclosure machines, in case anyone else needs work done for a project.

I have a small bench top lathe that is good for small parts. I lack the skill for anything complicated, but it's got me out of a jam many times with cars.

it's a stopper to limit the turn of the wheels on each side, just like a real truck.

There's a rack and pinion assembly as well to bring the steering wheel in the center for which I have to find (cheap) replacement compression springs:
