Who's going to Ontario Pinfest?

Since the Allentown thread is quite... negative (lol), let's do a positive one for a CANADIAN show, Ontario Pinfest.

Yes folks, there is a 3rd Pinfest [new name] happening again this year. Every year it has gotten bigger and better, first year was in a fairly small building on the Wasaga Beach sports fields for a one day event. Both the organizers, Rob Edwards and Dave Astill, were just hoping we could fill the floor...... well by five oclock Friday night I had to tell them that some vendors would have to be outside as we were just about full already. It was tight, but the day went off great.....

Last year they decided to move it to the Great Northern Fairgrounds closer to Collingwood, which had much more space. Some growing pains, but another great success, and any lessons learned are being applied to this years show. I sincerely hope that anyone whom is not attending a show in the US this year come over and visit Ontario Pinfest, and hopefully make it financially self supporting, as both organizers used their own money to make it work. [with a special nod to Pinball Medics who pretty much closed up shop to attend with 20 games]

For year three, Rob has stepped aside to be a valued volunteer and contributor, and Dave is running the show. This year it has grown to two days along with limited camping on site. I haven't talked much to Dave yet, so I will only speak to what I'll be bringing, which will be 15 games including some not often see ones like Blue Note, Hit The Deck, Asteroid Annie, Ripleys BION, Swords Of Fury, and hoping to have a Counterforce ready in time.

I am going and bringing the P3 with a few modules (Princess Bride, Weird Al, Final Resistance). Portal may happen but it depends on the availability of the prototype modules. Will know more in a few weeks.

The response has been really positive this year. I feel we will have more games , events and attendance than in 2024. Dont forget you can pre order shirts , camping , and tickets at ontariopinfest.ca

Also closer to the event pinballrom will be announcing some great show specials.

I suggest playing it Friday during setup. Makes a difference when you can hear the dialog/music

I will be setting up a small pinball history booth. Going to be bringing at least 2 prewar pins, some trade stimulators, and a few pinball ancestry toys from around the globe.
If you have any prewar machines or even pinball from before 1960 and want to set it up at the booth please let me know!

Exciting news for all the video guys. Callan Brown will be bringing an arcade/video game board testing rig. For all those boards sitting in boxes and on the shelves. Bring them to pinfest and see if they still work. This a great opportunity to have your video pcbs tested .

excellent condition. Plays 21! Spin the reels and the left 3 windows close. You are shown the 2 cards on the right. You can take a hit by pressing a button to reveal the card in the next window. You can either reveal the dealer's hand by pressing the HOUSE button, or press the 2nd DRAW button.
Once you press the HOUSE button, the DRAW buttons no longer work.
Machine has a gumball dispenser at the bottom left. I've never used this, but the mechanism is all there. It's usually missing on these machines.
This machine is entirely mechanical. For best action, the piston needs to get occasionally oiled so it recoils slowly. There is a window on the right that shows the last coin played. Sometimes the coins accumulate here, but it doesn't seem to affect play.
Original back door included, with a key.

Probably one of my favourite slot-style games because it actually has the mechanical interaction. Deliciously evil design.

The classic Kicker Catcher! Tonnes of fun. Plays great. I assume the cabinet was all restored. Comes with back door and key, and I'll throw in a bunch of pennies if you need them.
