Carpentry project jukebox stand

Post by redketchup »

My little jukebox was coming with a stand when buy brand new in 1941… but most of the operator throw it away because they want to put it on the bar counter, as for result they are really rare and cost more then the jukebox itself when you find one.

There is a guy in the US who did a repro that look pretty good, but it sell for 3500$ us and I need to go get it to chicago…

This what it should look like

So After some motivation from Paidge, i decide i can do it myself!

I brainstorm this for more than 2 month, buy some new tool, wood, etc… I start the project yesterday…

Today was the kerf bending test day!

Kerf bending is way to make round corner with plywood. You have to cut strip in certain distance to acheive the radius you need. There is a calculator available online but its doesn’t work really good for me… it was a good start, but i acheive what i want with a lot of try and error.

When i got the radius i want, i mark it in my table saw and was ready to cut the real Plywood

Last step, i wet the plywood to help bending and use gorilla glue to glue it. Clamp everything and wait 3h to dry
