FS: Adams family bally 1992 pinball machine ** NIGERIAN SCAM **

Post by Magicman »

Nice, original Addams Family. Fully working and plays great! When I purchased this game a few years ago, I shopped it out. Since then, I've just kept it maintained with an occasional wiping down of the playfield. Nothing else needed! Here are some noteworthy details

* Pinball Pro enhanced sound system installed
* Uncle Lester Mod installed
* New clear staircase ramp with decals installed
* New subway ramp installed
* New slingshot plastics
* Spotlight added to illuminate bookcase
* Thing decal set, backboard decal, and bookcase decal set added
* New rubber installed when shopped
* New beer seal installed when shopped
* Remote battery holder installed
* Gold ROMs installed
* Pincab leg protectors installed
* Magnet fuse kit installed (to prevent playfield burn in case of locked on magnet)
* Cliffy protectors added (3 piece swamp set, vault edge, electric chair scoop, and
shooter eject protector set

Asking price is $6000 shipped from Chicago. PM if interested

If the machine is in Chicago, I would assume this was $6000USD.
This falls right in the middle of the price estimate on pinside.
If I'm right, you then add the money conversion and duty tax and you end up near the price you would expect.
I would recommend local pickup though.
Road Show, Last Action Hero, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Stargate, F14 Tomcat (in restoration)

With all the extras claiming to be on the machine I would say US or CDN that is a deal. What is really sketchy is the location, the new account and the single dark picture.

I mean feel free to buy the machine if you think it is legit. I will keep my money safe.

Pretty random that some guy in Chicago posts the game on a Montreal arcade forum and nowhere else that I regularly frequent anyhow.

You all might be interested to learn that the OP is from Nigeria...

Unless he was using a Nigerian proxy when he registered, which would be a weird way to gain confidence for an online sale :D

So yeah, this is a scam, I will remove him but leave the post, so that you can see patterns later on if he comes back around here or somewhere else...

I suspect the Pinside Ad and OP is legit. They have been on the site for 5 years.

Someone attempting to impersonate that Pinsider to scam people here.

Exactly. This is why it is wise to Google some of the distinctive ad text to see if it matches an ad somewhere else.

Can we move this thread to the "Crap" folder so it isn't the first thing we see in the classifieds? No sense giving this more PR than it is getting.
