Oooh, that tickled some youth memories... I thought it was based on the cartoon movie for a minute, but apparently it's based on the magazine instead.
People say it's a Star Wars Home Edition retheme.

Not sure how reliable that claim is. Star Wars Home Edition has an LCD and this Heavy Metal pin has a DMD.

Jesus, did any of them survive? Wasn't there a massive recall or something? I haven't seen one in years.
Patron saint of lost pinball causes.

the main selling point of the magazine was the amazing artists that got featured, so I have no idea why they can't tout the artist here. I used to love hunting for Moebius issues

As for the pin, yawn. Wake me when TMNT from Stern and GnR from JJP get shown. Also apparently Cactus Canyon remake getting unveiled in Texas, Deeproot's proper RAZA unveil happening in March, new Multimorphic stuff on the way, American Pinbal's Hot Wheels... too much pinball to bother with filler machines like this

I swear to God Stern's Marketing department has their heads up their asses. Heavy Metal? That will really capture the youth market. Christ, I'm 46 years old and read the damn magazine consistently and it had all but faded from my memory.

Get your thumbs out of your asses and go get the rights for a decent theme Stern!

It seems to be a contracted Pinball machine similar to Primus. Will probably be a low run of games to justify the ridiculous price.

Stern is really losing favor in my books with these recent decisions (UV light kit cash grab, Now this). Not to mention the poor build quality with parts needing to be replaced out of the box more frequently.

I work hard for my pinball dollars and will probably have to spend them elsewhere now as I am losing trust in Stern.

I say this now until TMNT comes out and calls for my wallet. I will try to resit getting suckered in next time.
Own
Stern: Black Knight: SoR, Iron Maiden, Deadpool, Walking Dead, Jurassic Park
Bally/Williams: Shadow (out on trade), Twilight Zone, Demolition Man, Fish Tales, Judge Dredd, Jack*Bot
Data East: Nothing
Gottlieb: Nothing
Bally: Future Spa, F14 Tomcat
Williams: Laser Ball

Wishlist
Baywatch, Transformers, X-Men, Stern Star Trek, Paragon, Metallica, GnR, GoT

BK:SOR was actually pretty good out of the box. The only issue was having to adjust the stand up target under the knight itself. The standing up Black Knight plastic at the VUK kept falling over. Needed to glue him in place.

My other games had problems.

Iron Madien had a bolt snap off on the flipper mech thw first week. The coil stops were destroyed quite quickly. Other than that it has been ok.

Deadpool had a chip in the clearcoat and art. Bolt snapped on the apron, scoops switch needed to be replace, and lil deadpool broke all within a few months of owning.

Jurassic Park had coil sleeves break after a couple of months. Right flipper had bad lag out of the box. a number of adjustments were required to get it playing right.
