POTC vs POTCJJ values

Post by tombiosis »

So with the awesome JJ pirates coming out, I wonder if that will affect the value of a good ol' POTC?
The Stern unit has been rising in value for the last while, and I wonder if this release will reverse that trend?
IMHO I doubt it.... but you never know. Some owners of the Stern machine that love the theme may wish to sell in order to help finance the newer game, creating a glut of 2006's on the market.
It is a rare and crazy collector that could justify owning both...no?
Thoughts?

The price points of each are completely different with stern at 50% of the cost of the JJ one. The gameplay is completely different as well so I really can't expect the Stern one to drop in value no more than the DE Star Wars to drop because of the Stern one. Actually if really great new games are flooding the market from JJ, CGC, AP, Spooky and Stern, theoretically all games will have downward pressure on their prices.

I'm waiting for it :) I still have to pay the major repairs on my Jeep, but after is all done, I wouldn't mind to buy some of these cheap games :)

Given the price of JJJ and others, I just don't see flooding happening. The games are awesome, but are almost double, in Canadian dollars, a NIB Stern Pro. Absolutely love what JJP has done with the last two games, but definitely won't be buying either.
