Stern ELVIRA'S HOUSE OF HORRORS (no more pro ?)

Post by Azatotht »

I haven't been following lately, did Stern stop making pros or is it something special with the new Elvira only ?
The Premium, Limited Edition, and Signature Edition models all feature Elvira’s “House of Horrors”, a frightening Victorian fixer-upper, full of creepy charm and supernatural surprises. Players can gain access to the mansion through the front door, the cellar, or through the garage which is guarded by a gravestone drop-target. An orchestra of color changing RGB lights accentuates the house in sync with the different “House Haunts” featured throughout the game. Lighted windows and a spinning attic turret track players’ progression on their pinball journey.

The Limited Edition model is limited to 400 units globally. The Limited Edition model includes additional unique features such as a sequentially numbered plaque, an exclusive mirrored backglass, exclusive custom themed cabinet artwork, a custom autographed bottom arch, exclusive custom art blades, anti-reflection pinball glass, and a shaker motor.

The highly collectible Signature Edition model is limited to 50 units globally. The Signature Edition model includes all features of the Limited Edition game, plus special hyper-chrome embossed cabinet decals, a personally autographed Elvira collectible trading card with cover and mounting, and a signed special Elvira certificate of authenticity that includes a swatch of fabric from Elvira’s iconic red velvet sofa.

Batman66 style. Gary Stern hinted that the margins on Pros are fairly slim and the inference is that when there's a large playfield mech, they couldn't actually do a Pro.
backglasses wanted: Star-Jet, Fairy, Star Trek (1971 Gottlieb)
marquees wanted: Roller Aces, Quiz Dragon, Strider, Varkon, Dark Planet, R-Type (w/ship), Quantum, Ninja (Sega)

So, a limited edition is a premium, but has a signed apron (whatever... it's an autograph), mirror blades (that most install anyways for 200$ or so), different cab decals (which is not an added cost... just a different decal), anti-reflection glass (easy to get) and a shaker motor (also easy to get). Oh yeah... it has a PLAQUE. LOL. 15 bucks at a trophy and engraving shop.

And the signature edition, HIGHER than the limited edition, also comes with... a piece of couch?

ROTFLMFAO....

OK.
How is this any different than the current crop of limited/special editions?? They are all premiums with a bit of useless (and overpriced) bling. Lol

It’s not a low end model it’s the premium. It’s a matter of perspective I guess.. i’ve always seen the Premiums as the full featured models. The way the designer intended. Then they take away features and toys to reduce costs and make a “pro” model. I find it difficult to see what cost cutting they could do on this model without ruining it. Makes sense to me to not have a low end model for this particular design. The price at 8k is still lower or the same as what other companies are charging for fully featured games. On par with CGC and way less than JJP.

My $0.02

Nice to see a new Elvira pin. There's more to the mansion than meets the idea (it's a cool gimmick). For whatever reason, I'm not liking the playfield art, maybe it will grow on me

Oh man, this makes me think of the old days when one of the old members was selling a scared stiff for under $3500 Canadian. The good old days price wise lol

Hey everybody, Long time again! This is The Game from all the new Sterns for me. The pricing model is similar to all the other games, just no Pro version and some sort of Super LE. Premium is priced very close to Premium of any other new Stern. Batman 66 was the same. Lyman Sheats on Code and the updates that have come to the game in the last few months make it sound amazing. Batman 66 was a box of lights at launch, got a few updates, then it got 17 updates in a matter of months! So, Anyone have an Elvira House of Horrors for sale, Hit me up!!
Thanks, Dave

Here are games I would like to acquire this year, or sometime...

Elvira House of Horrors
Deadpool

Playfield Rotisserie

There is one on location here that I know of, at PinBar. An LE, of course it is locked down right now. At least I got to play it before they closed everything down. Been a few updates since then.
Thanks, Dave
