The TZ Price Quiz......
Hello everyone.
While on the other thread there is some talk about "Prices Of Pins" I thought I would do a price Quiz myself but first please let me explain why I wanted so much to buy a TZ again, I know I said that I was out of the hobby only a few days ago but I could'nt resist buying my holy grail and this is why: I had been out for about 4 to 5 years without a single pinball machine all of ths time, while I was out of the hobby, on a regular basis, I would think of the different call outs from a TZ pinball machine, "POWER BALL" , "The Clock Is Worth Millions" or "You Have Just Taken A Detour in, The Twilight Zone" and I kept thinking to myself "what a cool pinball machine" , anyway it was the coolest I had ever owned (just my personal opinion), then came that moment of truth , Let me explain: one of my sons, who is 25 years old, is a 60's TV series geek, he watches them all including The Dick Van Dyke Show, Doctor Who (old episodes), Star Trek (the original seried with Wlliam Shatner) etc. and 2 years ago he buys the complete Twilight Zone series with Rod Serling in the beginning and at the end of each episode commenting.....We live together for now 2 years and each time he would watch another episode, the TZ pinball machine came back in my head like a flashback giving me the hype I had when playing the game, over and over, after 2 years of this bad treatment well, like I said, I just could'nt resist getting TZ back again, I bought it yesterday and I think it will stay for many many years this time, maybe even longer .
Anyway, here's what I wanted to do, I describe the game from top to bottom, post pictures of it and ask: How much do you think I paid for this TZ?
And WHO EVER COMES CLOSEST to the price I paid will get this prize, some warning decals I made years ago for Williams system 9 games and decals from the 2015 Ottawa Show my son bought and gave me (see pictures), postage paid by me.
In the end I will reveal the actual price I paid, which I think is a fair price, but I might also be wrong, I just hope I'm not......
In exactly a week from now I will reveal the price I paid, so next Saturday 23rd of October at 9 pm.
OK, The TZ I bought works 100%, has new cabinet decals installed, the PF was completely stripped and clear coated with automotive CC, new CPR mini playfield (clearcoated as well), new DMD and DMD board as well, all LED's throughout, really nice non yellowed translite, has a custom topper with LED's, new legs, new leg levelers, cabinet protcectors, new balls, inside cabinet art blades, plastics are all nice, not cracked, has the gumball mod and target decals. All I need to do to make it perfect is restore the front door, polish the lock down bar mecanisme and do a nice paint job on the rear of the backbox, maybe add a few plastic protectors, a few mods also, but I'm not sure about the mods yet.
Here are the pictures of what you get if you can guess the price of this TZ.
The pictures of the game will be posted in the posts after this one.
Good luck.

Re: The TZ Price Quiz......
Need better pics to tell
I do see rusted screws holding the bubble level, rusted bolts on the front of the machine, dirt in the shooter lane.
I'm going to say $10K.

Ya, I saw that too (rusted screws), and I was also planning on correcting that problem as well in the next few days.
I'm sorry about the pictures but my godfather's cell phone was all I had to take pictures yesterday,

I'll say 9300$ in honor of the good old prices before the pandemic and the FOMO era! Also, @GILV seems like a nice guy, so maybe he got a great deal!

Re: The TZ Price Quiz......
$8,500 is my guess. Might be on the low side, I'm guessing towards a decent deal.
Congrats! It's one of the best games ever made.

Thanks, and that is from someone who knows what he's talking about......not just because of your Maaca name but because you've owned the game for over 20 years now, am I right?TwilightZone wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 9:34 am $8,500 is my guess. Would you sell it? will you still have it in 10, 20 or 30 years from now?
