Will pay $! Need help to move arcade game to basement

Post by joblo »

I have a large 'arcade game' called Aliens: Extermination (https://www.arcade-museum.com/game_deta ... e_id=13626) in my garage which I need moved down to my basement (around 15-20 steps).

The machine weighs 450lbs but is also a little awkward looking, as you can see from the picture.

I live in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, in the West Island of the city.

If you, or anyone you know, can help out with this (I can't help, because I have a bad back), let me know and I'd obviously be willing to pay you for your help.

The way to move it in the basement is to remove all parts, control panel, video screen, power supply, coin door and etc.... At the end the base alone should be around 120 - 150 lbs

Just hire a moving company for a couple of hours. It will be $100 maximum!

I wish!

I called a couple and most have a MINIMUM HOURS safety net going, usually 3 hours @ $175/hour. They also charged an extra $0.60 per pound, so that's another $270 and one even charged extra per step! The first one came up to $850 as a quote. Plus taxes, of course... lol.

And there's no way I'm taking it all apart, that defeats the purpose and it's actually not easy to do as it involves cutting pieces, ungluing others, not stuff I could do or WANT TO DO at this point.

No need to cut or ungluing, lot of heavy parts can be remove easily. I move my star trek captain chair in the basement and it’s certainly near 450 lbs just by removing the parts, it’s only take more time but with the help of my friend it was a free move ;)

I just noticed your request. I live in Dollard and can give you a hand if you still need help. Let me know. No money needed either.

Thanks,

Mark

WOW, no wonder the COVID epicenter of Canada is Montreal.

LOL - no one looks at dates anymore. It was as if time stood still and everything remains as it was when it is posted. Words become static on the web.

Way to set the record straight Ian. :thumbup

Thanks Mark for reading late and Zak for another out of place/time comment.

Post from Sunday April 19th saying "they would help".

Great job on the social distance Montreal.
