Here's the amazing Rush custom pinball machine made by Brent Butler aka Tommy. 2 examples of this machine exists, there was a second one made for Dave Astill who did help Brent with his project.
Posting this for the new members who never had the chance to see it, this was an amazing custom machine made in 2009 with custom boards and all. This was before P-Roc and the others.
Base machine for the project was The Getaway: High Speed 2

Re: Rush custom pinball machine
Unfortunately, I lost the original thread when I converted the forum. It is still there on the archive site thread list but pages are lost.
Here's the little info I have been able to recover from the old thread (this was posted in May 2008 while he was still gathering parts and working on the design):

I'm finally making some headway on the cpu boards. I have a prototype working
that allows me to upload ROM code into flash memory using a parallel cable from
a PC. I built in some of the logic of a (Necro will kill me here!) Willem programmer,
to load the 4Meg on board Flash EEPROM via the asic. (using the Willem s/w).
This FPGA-ASIC is a complete re-write of the wpc asic, and functions the same, with the
exception of the RTC (Real time clock). I don't need a pinball to tell me what time
it is
Speaker panels done & a prototype translight.
Prototype CPU board with ASIC fully functional now, time to make a pair of production models!
I'm using a somewhat modified version of a HSII pf, without the accelerator and stuff.
Maybe a two-level upper area ... not 100% certain yet.
A fully custom (brand new design) pf is a little beyond my capabilities with the tools I have available.
I'd put drop targets everyplace if I could, just love them, however they take up too much under the pf space.

WOW . That is a ton of work. Nicely finished, 2112, bg. sweet.
Great canadian band, Good theme.
Something about that sunset riders theme really appeals to me, summertime, girls, 8 ball donor machine........
Really nice job on the rush machine.
thinking about a simpler EM rebranding,Waiting for machine/theme to come to me.maybe I should put rush on the headphones and meditate on it...
Thanks for posting.

Re: Rush custom pinball machine
I've seen in person the example that Dave Astill has when I picked up a game he had sold me a few years ago and it's a beauty, I was impressed with the quality of the work that was done on the playfield.

I wasn't much of a Rush fan but Peart was amazing.
