Re: What did you do today in the hobby?
Installed my new Coin Taker shaker motor in my Stern Elvis! Had to drive to 2 stores to find the correct T-nuts as they were missing from my kit.
Thankfully Elvis comes pre-wired for the shaker motor option, so after some head scratching I figured it out.
The shaker adds a new and cool dimension to the game.
Now I am "All Shook Up"!

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?
Just picked up a Sinbad on the way home from work. It lights up, but wont start up a game, however the price was right and I must say even from all the machines I helped set up in Hawkesbury and Ottawa, I have never seen a game look so new inside. Not a heat mark, scratch, or anything inside, all sticker numbers on connections still plain as day.......like a time warp almost. The older gentlemen [ through his Son, Dad only spoke Italian] said that he played this game at his cousins house when they were teenagers, and it stayed there until his cousin died a few moths ago.

I can't recommend enough upgrading to the Pascal all-in-one board. I love Sinbad so much, and the Pascal board adds a skill shot and a ball save, both of which really make the game that much better.Guard wrote:Just picked up a Sinbad on the way home from work. Changed over 30 bulbs in this one today:
Finally got it just almost working 100%. Just waiting for a new target to show up! Played it until my figures hurt. My new favourite machine.

Yesterday, I picked up a couple of old handheld games in amazing condition. A sweet 'Mattel Electronics Football 2' and I don't think 'Entex Baseball 3' has been used!
Also, 'Football 2' came with a receipt from Leisure World in Toronto from '81! Sale sticker still on the box - $37.32, tax included!

That's neat. According to the Bank of Canada inflation calculator that would be $97.53 in today's money!

Is that based on the $44.95 or the sale price of $34.88?uberhare wrote:That's neat. According to the Bank of Canada inflation calculator that would be $97.53 in today's money!
Anyway, appreciate the inflated offer but, sorry Jason ... not for sale!
But you're welcome to play it next time you're over.

Oddly no. My wife doesn't have it either!Silverball wrote:Did you find the disappearing ball from league night?
That was strange, as the machine would have complained on startup and I never found it anywhere.

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?
Took off my first backbox and removed my first playfield today. It really wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. Actually it was probably too easy... Now I'll want to do this every time I shop a game.

Are you using an iPhone on iOS 11 ? They introduced a new compression format, could be that, let me know if it's the case.

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?
Installed my first flipper rebuild kit on my No Fear today (managed to chicken out for a decade without ever doing one before).
NO FEAR!!!!
I had the entire family over for thanksgiving dinner and was singing the praises of No Fear being one of the fastest games ever made....then was embarrassed when it played like an old wet 3 legged dog.
Rebuild done, playing nice and fast, no new extra parts left over, and only burnt my finger once in the operation.
Also, put some new stronger version coils on my T2 instead of doing its rebuild just to see what would happen. Plays super fast now...thinking it'll be psycho fast with a rebuild when I get to it next.

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?
Today I lost a ball in the machine with the glass on.
I was happily playing tri-ball multiball on my Bullwinkle until I lost the last ball, then the machine said a ball was missing.
What?!? A ball can't vanish just like that! It's not stuck anywhere, It's not at the bottom of the cabinet.
Took me 1h to find it. Can you spot it?
There it is.

I had that happen on a taxi last week. was in multiball during a tournament and shot the ramp and the ball actually vanished. Secret door behind the side flap on the ramp then slipped under a plastic. had to carefully pluck it out with a screwdriver during play since we were in the Middle of the tourney. I was confused for a minute. Took a few people to figure out where it went. looks like your pop bumper popped it right into your plastic. I hope you took advamtage of that tri ball you had monies the one ball!

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?
Actually, it's even more miraculous. I saw it happen once afterwards. The drop targets on the right reset, that causes an air ball, which lifts the plastic because the bottom part is broken and it cannot be screwed. There is just enough space under for the ball and the plastic drops right back into place. I shopped for that single plastic but I could not find it (Rue Brittania). I fixed it by using rings around the screw to squeeze the plastic.Murphelman wrote:looks like your pop bumper popped it right into your plastic.

That R&B is sitting in my basement now. It looks pretty but the boards were hacked up a bit. had to buy a new power supply and have some transistors replaced in the mpu. Once that's all serviced and working it's on to it's new home
