Great game and great looking game condition wise as well. I’m currently working on one that I pulled from southern Ontario and it was really rough but I found a good original playfield and was able to make some of the parts missing like lockdown receiver etc. Can’t wait to get mine together and try it out! Nothing better than a nice Classic Stern!

Yeah, in my heart F2K is still my Classic Stern no.1 First talking Stern with great electronics sounds and sounds spinners !
There's a day 1 mylar ''home made'' installed by a smart operator on the playfield and i would like to say thanks to him :)
The multiball release is very satifying samething as Freefall and really like to fight to get all the letters.

My plan is to restore this playfield at the same level as my previous EBD project.
I would like to remove the wood effect around switches and drop down targets same as my Centaur restoration, i found this effect particularly ugly on this tilte. I will probably take one year to complete this playfield to my satisfaction :)

Mylar removal done.
Ok two types of mylar on this playfield, the standard one around pop bumpesr. I used the freeze method with succes.
I removed the glue with alcool 99% and magic eraser.

The bottom one was another kind of beast, more flexible and react a lot with cold and heat.
Tried the freeze method and it became very brittle, impossible to remove it that way. Heat method was the way to do it. But too much heat and it is tearing itself apart and not enough result to more art damage.
I found the right amount of heat and the right place to shoot and almost no art gone.

Sanded playfield 400 grid and magic eraser. It's a rude but necessary process.
The most challenging part of this restoration will be the orange and yellow dot art from the bottom moon.
But most difficult part of the art, the center planet, is safe :)

Hey merci mon chum.

Since day one i received this machine, my worst nightmare is the day i will have to repair this section orange-yellow dot patern. 10 years have passed and and I have gained a lot of experience :-)
Still it required lot of patience and perseverance to repair this kind of artwork but i think it look pretty good now. Maybe there's room for a little more precision but i'm already happy with the result now.

The violet medium dark color was very difficult to reproduce. I had no experience with that kind of color and it took me lot of testing to finally match the color perfectly. Not pinky, not blueish, not reddish, it really match the intended space dark theme. Not too much glow or light reflection.

Completed the artwork around switches for inlane outlane section, the artwork shine a lot more that way in my opinion.
I will continue that way all around the playfield.
