Can you see a difference, is there a difference...
1686442B-37F4-4AFC-8D13-80895B2EF2ED.jpeg
It’s not a big difference, the « super » is done and the « bonus » not... but when i will clearcoat it, the white will pop more and this is all the little think that make the restoration look beautifull!

My technic for the small letter is simple... i put a small amount of white with a little brush and i used a toothpics to remove the paint that run over...

test fitting for the rub-on decal...

I have an answer for you Mister Paidge... the yellow will be covered with the insert ring... i made it little bit bigger on the yellow to be sure there is no insert left when i will put the decal...

Thank you very much Adriano for your help with this, really appraciated it.

Fantastic work Gino! Looks great.

I think we both learned our lesson (the hard way) about removing the inserts on these classic Stern. I think the glue they used just wasn't very good and there is always movement with the inserts. I will also not make that mistake again. What sort of glue are you using to replace them? It looks white. I've been using epoxy. Messy, but strong.

I received word today that the insert ring file was received. Hopefully there is no issue and they can produce it quickly for you.

Good luck!

Thank's Adriano

i used Weldbond glue... it's white and dry clear, you have a lot of time to make adjustement when you put the insert back... always use it without issue.

don't want to see insert moving again after my clearcoat... nightmare!

Hey the magic happen again, superb job !!

I'm now using Duco cement glue. It's transparent and don't shrink when dry. It take 24 hours to dry very hard.
It give you about 5 minutes to install your inserts correctly and the mess on the playfield is very easy to remove.
