Last night after my run in Lindsay, went over to my customer and friend Phil to watch the Leafs game and work on a Gottlieb Pinball Pool.

I seem to be in some dumb fight on pinside because CPR substituted blue for green in their run of Meteor backglasses. Oh, and I met the mayor of Ottawa this morning. Still probably won't vote for him again, but I met him.

Started putting the prewar machines in a row. 1 is still out for restoration, so it will eventually be 5 of them, average age 86 years old.

I think you should put a Florida Water spritzer near the door.

That is awesome. I still keep wanting to add a pre-war game to my collection Rockala and Stoner games seemed to be the most fun from what little I have played.cait001 wrote:Started putting the prewar machines in a row. 1 is still out for restoration, so it will eventually be 5 of them, average age 86 years old.

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?
"Finished "up a Pat Hand that I was tinkering on for the last couple weeks. Turned out really nice considering how long it had sat. I had never wiped that much dirt off a PF and it was extremely nice underneath. Still have a bit of an issue with it counting out some extra bonus before the outhole relay kicks in but it's getting better with some game time. (I think Sylvan has a thread on MAACA about this problem) I did some low purple light above the score reels as there is almost no paint there on the BG. The lady is still all there so I stuck about 4 white LEDs behind her and that takes away from some of the other missing paint.
Nice to bring back a game I played a ton as a kid and finding out I still enjoy the game play.

Looks great. The semi truck was my idea.

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?
Brought Joker poker home for the 2nd time.
As soon as I had it working and shiny( with the help of a super tech maaca member ) a good friend wanted it. So we carried up 3 flights of stairs to sit beside his wms triple action.
A year later and back down the stairs it comes.
Wife's out at music trivia with a friend so I've got a few hours to come up with a decent story........
Any Ideas?
Noticing the coin door lights and back box lights are dim.....will post in other forum for help. Not sure about that.....
I am out of pinball room.
I am sore from lifting pinball.
I have less money because of pinball.
I am in trouble ( wifey)because of pinball. ( not really)
I will call R.A.B. next week for parts for pinball.
I love pinball.
Edit: figured out after much head scratching that the leds were defective. Thus giving me dim lights. Replaced with 44's . No more bargain cheap leds.

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?
Was it those $0.50 ones from Comet? I bought a tonne of them for my games and within a year they all had to go. Huge mistake, although the rest of their products are pretty good. I really like their Optix Maximus for GI and I should have bought them the first time.shane wrote:Edit: figured out after much head scratching that the leds were defective. Thus giving me dim lights. Re: What did you do today in the hobby?
Finished clearcoating my BSD playfield with SprayMax 2K. Bought a pop-up spray tent which worked well https://www.amazon.ca/HomeRight-C900038 ... way&sr=8-2
I did have PPE on; spraying out side there is minimal exposure it doesn't take long to spray the playfield. I'll let it cure for a bit before sanding / polishing. It is not perfect but way better than what I started with, in reality when you are playing you will not notice the flaws that remain. I could have bought a new one from Mirco for $999 USD but this is good enough.
I am still considering what to do with the cabinet. Mirco does have "RadCals" that I think are $379USD I may use those but pondering other options like painting it myself.
