Unico Nova Blast Candy Cab

This one is interesting, from the manufacturer of the MVSX home arcade, they are hitting the market with a full size modern candy cab supporting: JAMMA, PC, MISTER, Consoles etc.

• Same dimensions as the real deal (ex: Astro City)

• All SANWA (seems to be 2L16B layout) and it's a one to one drop with real candy cab controllers

• Shipped with a 26in 4:3 monitor (LCD of course...)

• Support for TATE configuration (monitor can be rotated)

• All METAL construction no cheap home arcade MDF ... this one will be harder to burn Phil!

• Working coin operated mechanism (funky but kind of nice)

• Weight: around 60-70lbs with the base (depending on what you put inside)

• Run from an arcade PSU

T’aurais dû m’en glisser un mot je vais clairement attendre avant d’y aller pour une Chewlix.

Tu me diras si jamais si tu est courant pour les pre-orders, je suis vraiment interessé.

Le problème du lcd c'est qu'il ruine complètement l'expérience "arcade". Le cab c'est très secondaire comparativement a l'ecran car c'est la que toute la beautée de la chose se passe. De voir les jeux en resolution standard 240x320 sur un crt c'est comme de voir une peinture originale d'un grand maître de la renaissance comparativement a un poster imprimé au jet d'encre.


L'autre expérience "arcade" manquante ce sont les controles. L'expérience "arcade" c'est d'avoir une multitude de différents contrôles pour multiplier l'expérience et la vivre comme elle l'a vraiment été imaginer par les concepteurs de l'époque.
Rare sont ceux qui vivent l'expérience de Defender, Robotron, Star Wars, Paperboy, 720, Millipede, Marble Madness, Assault, Arkanoid et d'innombrable autre games avec des contrôles type 2x 8 way et boutons avec ce type de borne et configurations de joysticks.

Yes, leur première batch de Unico 26in 'CRT replacement panel' avait beaucoup de problèmes et plusieurs ce son plaint avec bcp de retour. Ils disent que ca sera pas ce type de panel dans la Nova Blast, et que la majorité des issues ont été réglées ... à voir.

You could almost make a killer cab by doing the opposite of this: CRT, Industrias Lorenzo controls etc.

The thing that really kills LCDs is the latency so many of the drivers add, just destroys the feel completely. Until we get the super high density displays which can display decently filtered upscales, and low latency drivers, CRT will still have an advantage.

It amazes me how popular the Sanwa style sticks are these days. I actually grew up on those, but later retried the old Happ style and found it way better.

Thanks for the update, yes, pre-orders start tomorrow but for USA only I think, they are still working to get a retailer/distributor for Canada.

Oui effectivement, idéalement faudrait qu'il soit specs et non comme l'autre panel. Il y a toujours moyen de le corriger avec un RetroTINK si jamais.
