Gottlieb Star Race Playfield Question

I’m working on a Gottlieb Star Race and the top left horseshoe didn’t have rubbers.

I’m placing one across the front as per the manual, but I have no information as to what stops the ball from falling into the centre of it doesn’t make a full orbit. There are 3 posts in the back without protection. They aren’t designed to facilitate a rubber and there aren’t any guides.

Wrong posts? If they were a bit shorter the half-moon plastic would act as the ball guide.

I’ll be taking that section apart next. I bet they do and they were just placed together like that. I’ll find out tomorrow and let you know.

Agreed with mrmikeman. These seem to look like small split posts - each made in two-halves,
where the transparent ball guide plastic should be sandwiched in the middle instead of on top?

You’re both correct guys. I came out at 5:30 this morning to settle on it in the garage. I would’ve found out if I just got to that corner before the end of the day.

At some point in the machines history, it was left improper and incomplete in the top corner. I figured he didn’t care because it was the wrong coil on the lower right flipper and the ball never made it that far anyway.

Full respect and so much thanks to mrmikeman for helping me breathe life back into this turd. Some playfield touchups and this thing will be as good as new.

I could still use some playfield plastics for Spit Second and Star Race if anyone has anything laying in a box.
