Hi All,
Wonder if someone would be able to come to my house in Stittsville and look at my Playmatic Speakeasy? It tries to reset itself once powered up, but wont set up for players.
Thanks
Alex

Re: Repair of Speakeasy pinball Playmatic
Hi Alex! There are a few folks that take care of electromechanical pinball machines in town, although sometimes the fix is reasonably simple, like a bent switch or a broken wire.
Have you looked at the EM pinrepair guide? It's available here: https://www.pinrepair.com/em/
That's how I got my start repairing games.

Re: Repair of Speakeasy pinball Playmatic
Thanks Alex, it was nice meeting you in person today !
Just to add a few details to this post in case anyone wonders:
I had only about an hour or so to visit. The main issues found and addressed on the machine today were:
- gummed-up ratchet on the ball/player unit in the cabinet that was preventing it to advance to position 1 once reset to position 0, so score motor would run continuously - a classic for EM games sitting for a while;
- broken start switch - will need to be fixed or replaced (easy to do);
- match interlock relay 'N' was mechanically stuck in=between its two positions. This caused the hold relay to release during the score motor turning via its NC 6C switch opening, caused by the parallel NC contact on the N relay not closed properly. Hold relay open stopped the game earlier basically.
Machine is playable now but needs more work to resolve a few remaining issues.
It was nice that Alex had the original large and clean schematics for the machine - being in Spanish was a bit challenging
Thanks and Happy flipping!

Just so you know Alex, PMs are also sent via email to the recipient.
They will sit in your outbox until that have been read on the forum. It does not mean that they have not been sent.
