I'll have to look deeper into this but for some reasons it is the embedded profiles that does that, not sure why.

Simply opening and saving them into Microsoft Paint will make them work (or open them in Photoshop and discard the profiles).

Can you please also send me a few or them via email for test purpose ?

Thanks for the files, it helped me find what was causing this issue, should be working now (please try on your side):

i think the image thing might be related to metadata from some modern phones that gets saved to the files. I had that issue once and I opened the file in a picture editor on my computer, resaved it, and then uploaded it. hope it gets figured out.
EDIT: nevermind, seems Azazoth is on top of things :)

mrmikeman wrote: Mon Jan 06, 2025 10:17 am On the weekend I finally started working on 2 of Cait's Arrangeballs that I've been waiting for some free time to tackle. Simple 1970's relay circuits (EM) but still challenging as there are no schematics. They often re-purposed PCBs and everything is hand built/wired. One of the basket case PCBs I am working on has 3 breaks that were re-glued/stitched and a grafted motor PCB that was just cut from something else and glued on lol. Would love to post pics but I am finally running into the same issue many others have. Server error when I upload regular/plain JPGs.
thank you for taking that on! they're cool little gambling machines.

Update to my post. Change of plans. I am taking ownership of the arrangeball pictured above from Cait and will convert it to Arduino controlled like I did with my Entertainer jukebox. This will let me use RGB lights and will enhance/modernize how it displays wins (blinking/color). I may even program an attract mode. Once I get my gear and start I will start a dedicated thread. Conversion cost to Arduino is about 130$ for all I need (Mega 2560, breakout board, power supply, RGB bulbs, and some colored wiring). I love programming those boards.

I may start threads for the other 2 that I am fixing up for Cait.

Update on pitch & bat,
New Control Panel
New Control Panel
My wood guy has made a new control panel for the machine. As the original one looked like absolute crap, I will be upgrading to classic silver buttons for pitch/bat function. Machine is playing very well in the meantime. I've rebuilt the pitch mech, replace lamp sockets & general adjustments.

I do have a question for y'all...

Addendum

This machine has the wrong backglass! There were three versions of this unit. Mine is actually a Williams' 1954 'Special Deluxe Baseball', made for the city of New York. The match features were physically removed from the machine so as to not award free games.

Ahh, New York! :)

Maybe a kick-off, or a slam or anti-cheat switch to stop the game if the front of the game is lifted and dropped to the floor perhaps ?
Looking for Bally Star-Jet, The Wiggler, Williams Magic City, Grand Lizard, Swords of Fury, 1986 Pinstar Gamatron, and a few others.
Collecting & repairing electro-mechanical and solid state pinball machines with quality and care for 40+ years already.
Serious and fun hobby, powerful nostalgia !

That is the only thing I can figure, even though a standard slam switch would do the trick. (there is already a slam mounted on the bottom of the cabinet.)

I'll remove the unit when I wire in a new power switch. :D

I am on FB just for marketplace. I got tired of people forcing their opinions on me. Lol. I like distraction, not depression.

Other than that, just chugging along.

Zuck said you are allowed to use denigrating and dehumanizing language now, but only against LGBTQ people and immigrants. Fun times!
Losing marketplace sucks but small price to pay when the alternative is tolerating nazi shit.

also, a bunch of us (regardless of if we're leaving or staying on FB) prefer Discord. So there's this:

Announcement: We are starting two new discord servers for the arcade collector and researcher communities.
Whether you're leaving Facebook or just prefer Discord, please come and help us grow these servers.
The first server is for people interested in prewar pinball and arcade. (even going back to the earliest 19th century coinop, and the threads of pinball ancestry that precede the coinop industry.)
The second server is for electromechanical coin-op, covering everything that came before solid-state electronics.

Quick update - replaced power switch & cleaned up wiring
Clean power installation
Clean power installation
Edit - So the power switch isn't working, machine always powered up. Interesting.

Pulled line fuse, played a few games... wait, what? Turns out that the transformer was mounted over a staple for the GI, completing the circuit through the grounded transformer frame. O_O

Removed staple, circuit clean now. Power switch working. Machine safe.

WOW!
