Hi guys
My jukebox is acting up. Used YouTube and the manual to troubleshoot. Reflowed all boards, checked harnesses etc. Carousel spins continuously. I think it's the optical switch. Is there any local sources for parts and/or repair services in Ottawa area? Willing to do Montreal also if needed.
Thanks
MaryEllen

Re: Help with Ami Rowe R91
Are the triggers switching on the carousel to show selections? Each record should have an associated toggle on the carousel. If my memory serves me I believe that if the juke thinks there is a selection it should play, it will spin the carousel non stop if no toggles are active as it's looking for the active one. Been a while since I worked on one. I worked on a Rockola 447 with a similar mech although it was mostly mechanical in nature as opposed to solid state.

Re: Help with Ami Rowe R91
I found this about a similar problem on the R91:
Apologies in advance for my non tech description, but hopefully you will get the gist of my findings. Once the deck cover was removed, I could see that the rubber drive belt was turning on the top nylon cog, but not turning the cog itself. As far as I can make out the cog should turn the ratchet which releases the spring which releases a lever which in turn switches the motor off (or something to that affect). The cog was dirty and pretty well seized up. So, cleaned it up, added a couple of drops of light weight machine oil on the shaft and all seems fine now.

Re: Help with Ami Rowe R91
Hey Mike
The carousel will spin continuously if you make a selection so mechanically belt is working. If you hit the scan button, it used to spin until you let go (to add records or find a slot) but that causes full spinning until it throws the next error of not finding a selection. So basically can never find a selection which makes me think optical switch. We removed and cleaned but no change. Think next plan of attack is a new optical switch but only found US choices from a father/son business in NH. Trying to source at least Canadian parts if possible.
