Why is Venom considered a bad game?

Post by Azatotht »

I keep reading that Venom sucks, but why exactly?

From the few games I have played on a Pro, I could not figure what was so wrong with it.

Often people don't like a game because it is too hard, or clunky. Sometimes code is not finished or good enough.

But for Venom, why are people disliking it that much?

I think people just think the Layout is super basic. No really toy or mech other than the moving Carnage which people don't feel is too exciting.

I personally like the game. I don't mind a good fan layout. The theme is fun and I think the code is good too.

Like Mike said, the layout is very basic. I like fan layouts, but they need to have interesting shots. Venom is completely lacking a fun shot and it has a very, very basic toy.

In market saturated with choices, it just doesn't measure up on any metric. It doesn't compare to Jaws, Godzilla, Elton John, etc. It's the most plain game they could have made. Absolutely dull. If I saw it on location, I likely wouldn't play it.

I don't know, I really like Venom...the quick ball launchers are unlike any other game, it's fast and pretty addictive. Pretty underrated.

I think it is a question of taste.

I don't mind fan layouts...

For this specific title, I've only played the Pro a few times at Targ. In the few games I've played, I didn't enjoy it. One is the theme... I am personally sick and tired of these Marvel titles as I'm not a Marvel fan (yes, I'm one of the few).

Secondly I didn't see any wow factor.

I may need to play it a bit more, but I am not attracted to this title...same for Mando.

That being said, I don't like the "Gold Wings" Layout of UXM, but I am still interested into playing it whenever I see one...and yet again, I don't like the theme...

Let's put it this way: if there was a severely discounted Venom available, i "could" entertain it... but would be a definite NO for Mando LOL...
