Atari Warlords cocktail restoration

Post by Sparky »

Well, screw it. Let's get some content rolling. Why not.

3 years ago, I picked up a sadly converted cabinet... an Atari Warlords cocktail 4-player. It had been converted to Black Tiger or something. I will have pics tonight.

The cab had the original monitor, which still worked. But otherwise, nothing else. Cheap switcher, cheap jamma harness, some mactac over the control panels and holes drilled for joysticks. Sad...

So, I spent 3 years searching for parts. Here's what I picked up:

Warlords pcb and top glass (400)
New Warlords wiring harness (100)
ARII board (100)
New pots for spinners (200)
Knobs for spinners (100)
New cone buttons (100)
Used power supply brick out of a dead Centipede (200)

So, yeah... not economically smart, lol, but this game needs to be enjoyed again. It is CRAZY fun with four players.

Cabinet is quite sound. Could use some sandblasting on the legs, but I will get to that. But this is a long-term project. Progress is slow. LOL. My next step will be to remove the control panels and repair them in our welding shop here at school. I will fill the holes done for joysticks and make it all flat.

More soon, hopefully.
FLIPPERS, JOYSTICKS & ELBOWS UP!
