I almost never post here, yet I frequent the site regularly. After reading this thread a few days ago, I thought about how MAACA helped me as I started in the pinball world 20 years ago. I thought I would start to be more active, hoping it generates energy and desires in others to participate more. Here is my getting a go at it: viewtopic.php?t=29195

I haven't been visiting as often and when I do it's mostly to lurk. I obtained my grail pin many years ago now and I have a second pin now that I still enjoy and to me that's enough. I don't have time to do much troubleshooting on pins other than my own. Gone are the days when I used to take in someone elses pin to shop and keep my technician skills honed. The Surf Champ I had was my last stint at really digging deep and trying to learn something new and I shared a lot of that progress here. Nowadays, my 57 year old house keeps me busy, and my kids are 14 and 16 so they keep me pretty busy too. Our old house, just a street away from our current house, we had pretty much dialed in from having lived there for over 10 years. At that house, we just had to stay on top of maintenance. This new house, we've been here only 3 years, and it's only starting to feel like "us" now.

Facebook can go eff itself. I've been trying to tear myself off that shithole of a platform for the last 6 months. The only reason I can't quit it is because of MarketPlace. Thankfully, there are so many dumbasses on MarketPlace that I have been finding it easier and easier to avoid. The problem now is that Kijiji is a shell of what it once was. I find I'm browsing MaxSold auctions while things I'm trying to sell on Kijiji just sit there and sit there.

If you're asking if you can shutdown MAACA, I'd be sad to see it go, but I'd also understand. I don't think when you started this place that you had signed up to do it for life. Oh, and if it makes you feel better, I don't visit Pinside or PinRev much either lately. I monitor the CFTBL thread on Pinside as an old timer, and follow the Canadian Sales thread but that's pretty much it.
