Announcement: We are starting two new discord servers for the arcade collector and researcher communities.
Whether you're leaving Facebook or just prefer Discord, please come and help us grow these servers.
The first server is for people interested in prewar pinball and arcade. (even going back to the earliest 19th century coinop, and the threads of pinball ancestry that precede the coinop industry.)
The second server is for electromechanical coin-op, covering everything that came before solid-state electronics.

Prewar Pinball and Arcade https://discord.gg/wtQKmHNVQv

EM Pinball & Arcade games [electromechanical] https://discord.gg/6psD8hwUNK
I just don't understand discord. I see lots of different servers but the navigation just doesn't seem easy. ?? Maybe if I give it more time

Well not just today but I've been
installing precision flippers in a few games
trying to tune the flippers on my Whirlwind. Its been my nemasis
created and printed a new bumper cap for Whirlwind with a tornado ontop
and continue to 3d print lots of different pinball items.
And always trying to get better at playing. I need to learn how to nudge better.

I was struggling at first too. Most important thing for me is to mute all notifications for a server and then turn them on for the channels I wanted.
As I learned the features I've really come to appreciate it, especially for my research.

But as Azazotht said it's like an insanely powerful IRC.

Start an account and then join 'servers', each like a specialist hangout room, each with a number of topical channels.

Not only is discord like irc, it *is* IRC. That's the protocol running the whole system behind the scenes. It's a walled-garden IRC client. Damn corporations have taken over everything.

I was at the AD&D launch party yesterday at Montreal Pinball Arcade and been able to spend some quality time on a Star Wars Premium. I've got to say that I changed my mind on this game.

Premium is definitely the way to go on that one, had much more fun than with the Pro. Got my heart pumping, fast and deep game. Would own one now.

Tried Munsters Pro, while the game itself isnt bad and shots are fun the code is lacking depth. It would benefits a better code upgrade. That one would not last in my home.

Finally the main reason why we were there was Dungeons & Dragons and that one did not disappoint !! Yes, of course, code is not completed but it's looking good so far. The dragon mech was bigger that I thought and the Pro is packed !!! Very very nice pro model. A theme I like and will follow how the code develops on it.

Congrats to eightball for winning the tournament ! Was great meeting you.

Well, I spoke with Rob today and he said that due to people really enjoying themselves, he will be making a regular tournament night. He is looking at Friday night on a weekly basis. There doesn't seem to be many arcades in Montreal doing tournaments like the Ottawa Pinball Arcade on Wednesdays, and the biggest comment he got was that kids are allowed. North Star is an amazing place... but no kids. And a 14-year-old came in second yesterday. So... he wants to make it a regular thing.

Looks like an April start, possibly. I would be in.

The video game i want to play is always the one i don't have :FP:
Les arcades, j'suis tombé d'dans quand j'tait pti !! :-)

Slowly finishing up fixing a Card Whiz, as it is leaving soon. I don't play it, so out it goes. Got new dip targets, regluing all inserts, putting in LEDs and a good cleanup. It plays great, but I will let someone else enjoy it.

Card Whiz / Royal Flush is one of my favourite EM games, but perhaps biased by being my first. Someone will definitely enjoy it.

Sold it for peanuts to an old friend in Newfoundland. Was supposed to stay local but he REALLY wanted an EM pin. Not much to go around in NL apparently.

No one posts in the Wanted Ads anymore, so I couldn't see if someone wanted it. And I reluctantly post anything for sale on any forums or sites. The last one led to a bunch of tirekickers and price police agents... even though it was a Lectronamo for less than 1500, fully tuned and LEDed.

I sell to friends or deliver to the ecocenter these days. Less hassle. LOL

Worked on the SilverCade for Chris this weekend. Working on control panels next before staining and varnishing.

It will have hydraulic legs, giving it the possibility to raise or lower to a desired height.
