These "for sale or for trade" ads need to be configured so that only a simple PM can be sent to avoid harassing replies.

Simple. Police yourself by simply ignoring lowball offers instead of posting things like this, and it should be fine:

Nope still for sale, just looking more for a trade. Your offer of $2800 FIRM was way off from my asking so naturally I assumed you were broke and did not want to waste my time...then you proceeded to name calling and suggesting I over-paid which was adorable !

Airing out dirty laundry in the open is not a way to calm things down. If you got a low offer, simply ignore, or just reply " Thanks for offering, but I respectfully have to turn down the offer", and ignore all other low offers.

This has been an on-going issue for years on MAACA that only invites "price police" or "unsavory comments". I am on classic car forum(s) as they are a hobby of mine along with vintage sports card forums...yet they do not have this issue....why is that? Is the hobby of pinball such a toxic environment that it is unique for all the wrong reasons? many friends ask about getting into the hobby and unfortunately I tell them to steer clear for obvious reasons. I have "policed" myself by defending myself. This was not an example of airing dirty laundry as you implied it was responding to defamatory post that was posted directly on my for sale/for trade ad. Do with this ad what you please...not my monkey noy my circus.

That is exactly what I suggested. Don't post PM replies out in the open, nor divulge offers.

Sorry I believe in transparency...if everyone is on the "up & up" what is the issue at hand? People can gain knowledge knowing what one person considers a "fair" offer. as not to be mislead. At any rate what I was "agreeing" with was members want to post a reply to a listing send it by PM. Seems like were talking in circles here. Have a lovely day and take care.

I am pleased you posted our conversation so people can see your name calling and slander tossed my way just because I would not accept your low-ball offer. $3500 is what I paid all in on Taxi and it is a great pin at a great price then as it is now. I love the game but I am downsizing to a condo so something has to go. If it does not sell I can still enjoy it until it does. I am financially comfortable so I do not accept low-ball offers. Again I thought you were a woman both because of your fake name and cluelessness on pinball values (most woman I know have not a clue what they go for) For the 4th time "please move on as I respectively decline your offer."
