Simple mentions

Any thoughts of adding support for mentioning a user in a thread to ping into their notifications tab? It would be great if I could give a shoutout to a user in a post and know that they would see it. Sometimes, for example, in a tech thread it would be great to call a user in the we know would be interested.

phpBB seems to have support for this through extensions like Simple Mentions: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/exte ... ns/support

I’m on the last day of my vacations, I may take a look at that eventually, will keep it in mind.

Did a quick check and we are running a higher phpBB version than the one the extension is running.

There are fixes from what I can see but I will have to test this on the test server first.

Sure thing. I don’t know how feasible it is, but I know that it’s useful.
