Funhub downtown Montreal - new place to play

There's a new place to play downtown Montreal called Funhub apparently (website: https://funhub.ca/).

Anyone went already ? Any list of available pinball machines ? Any MAACA members associated with this place ?

Please add your experiences.

Allright, so I went to Funhub with my son yesterday to check it out by ourselves.

2 floors filled with games, a bar on the main floor and a separate restaurant area upstairs.

There's a pool tables area, dart machines, VR area and a lot and I mean A LOT of redemptions games. That place is literally filled with redemption games, a few racers and 4 pinball machines.

We were there for the pinball machines, not really into redemptions. There were 4 of them:

They are using a card reader on the games instead of tokens. We went for the cheapest card, which was 30$. Actually it was 36$ after 2$ for the card and taxes. We figured it was enough to try the games we were there for (we especially wanted to play Jaws).

So we went to Jaws, put the card on the reader and BOOM, game started automatically and PLUNGED the ball !! We wanted to play a 2 players games but apparently since we only had one card we could not, never seen such a thing ! We could not start 2 players games with a single card.

Ok, so one player games it will be, not a big deal.

The place was literally empty, maybe 10 persons around and there was no sounds from others games, just the music playing. Unfortunately, the pinball machines volume was so low that we could barely hear anything

We went ahead and played for a bit. Extra balls were not awarded (only points) and there were NO free games either. What a bummer, trying to avoid license fees by turning these off ?

Not sure if it is a known issue with Jaws but there were so many airballs going on (to the point that the top right loop was almost impossible to hit, the ball was just flying) that it made it almost unplayeable. Can't hear sounds, no xtra balls, no free games awarded and airballs from hell, will have to try this one somewhere else.

We played DrNo and Deadpool, both were playing right but with the same settings minus the airballs. I don't think we will go back... at least the games were immaculate, Jaws even has the protectors on the t-molding still.

While we were there we also checked out the Playbox arcade at the Eaton Center.

There are no pinbal machines there at all. Redemptions, racers and VR rides mostly. Meh

Unless you love redemptions and VR rides I would suggest to look elsewhere to play pinball.
